Police hunt thieves who stole £12k whisky exports
Brazen thieves made off with £12,000 worth of whisky from an East Kilbride warehouse.
Three pallets storing 150 cases of malt whisky were taken during the raid at The Bonded Warehouse, in Carron Place, Kelvin Industrial Estate.
The premises were broken into between 12.05am and 7.25am on Friday 7th November.
The suspects are understood to have made off with the goods in a van.
Police said the whisky, which is for export only, was in very distinctive bottles and packaging. The bottled brands stolen were Nordicbarrel single malt 70cl, The Old Malt Cask single malt 20cl and Caol Ila single malt 70cl.
PC Matt McCabe said: “The perpetrators must have had access to a large van to remove the whisky from the premises.
“If anyone is offered these products in pubs or clubs please contact the police.
“This callous theft has affected people’s livelihoods before Christmas.”
Anyone with information relating to the recovery of the whisky should contact police on 101.
Alternatively they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
