Roadworks To Close Hamilton
Several roads across Hamilton are to be affected over the next two weeks as road works get under way. South Lanarkshire Council have revealed a number of routes in the town are to close as repair work begins.
Glenlee Street in Hamilton will be closed for over a month as gas mains replacement work began on June 24th, and will continue until August 5.
Burnhouse Road also closed on June 24th and will now be shut off until Friday, July 3rd, as it is being resurfaced.
Queens Drive in Hamilton will be closed from June 25th until Friday, July 24th, for work by the Scottish Gas Networks.
Also starting June 28th, the A723 will be closed for carriageway resurfacing work on Duke Street for drivers heading eastbound.
Melfort Road will close from Monday, June 29th, until July 3rd for footway resurfacing works.
In July Wellhall Road will close from 6am to 11pm for three Sundays in a row, starting on July 5th, for major road works.
Russell Street is also scheduled for gas works in July starting on Monday, July 13, and closing for a week.
Areas across South Lanarkshire are also listed for closure by the council, with High Brownside and Caldergreen Highway, near the A71, in Strathaven from June 29th to July 3rd for drainage works.
Lethame Road near Strathaven Academy will also be closed from July 13th to July 26th for resurfacing.
