Pele Is Coming
A Lanarkshire boxing promoter is bringing the greatest footballer of all time to Scotland.
Francis Gilluley, who runs Fighting Scots Gym in Mossend, has signed up Brazilian legend Pele for a sportsman’s dinner later this year.
The 75-year-old three-time World Cup winner will top the bill at the glamorous event in Glasgow’s Marriot Hotel this September.
It’s taken “a lot of hard work” to bring the superstar to Scotland but Frank reckons it will be a knockout night when Pele comes to town.
He said: “Primarily we are boxing promoters, but we have organised a number of events over the years to host some amazing sportsman’s dinners.
“We have started working with a number of football agents and, through a lot of hard work, we have been able to secure Brazilian legend Pele, which is just brilliant.
“At Fighting Scots Gym and the European Boxing Federation, we want as many people to meet as many sporting heroes as possible.”
For football fans, it doesn’t get better than three-time FIFA World Cup winner Pele, and tickets won’t be cheap — costing between £175 and £995.
Frank added: “The higher end tickets are aimed at corporate groups and include a signed Brazil top, three-course meal, meet-and-greet and drinks, but we do have standard tickets that gives all a chance to meet Pele.”
The evening takes place on Friday, September 16. Tickets for the Pele meeting are available to pre-order by calling 07767 636366.
