Missing Man Spotted Again
Police Scotland this week released information about two new reported sightings of a 34-year-old man who is missing from the Motherwell area.
Gary Pugh disappeared from his home in Milton Street around 3.15pm last Thursday.
Officers have been carrying out enquiries and have confirmed a sighting of Gary on CCTV outside the Argos in Hamilton Palace Retail Park at around 3.33pm hours on Friday, October 30th. He was seen walking in the direction of Halfords and enquiries are ongoing to examine additional CCTV footage in the area.
Police say the latest sighting of Gary was at ASDA in Larkhall on Sunday, November 1, where he was spotted buying food at 10am.
A member of the public also reported a sighting of Gary in the Netherburn/Ashgill area around 4.05pm hours on Friday, October 30.
Officers say that Gary’s disappearance is out of character. He is described as white, 5ft 8in tall and of heavy build with short dark hair.
He can be seen on CCTV outside Argos wearing dark combat trousers, navy checked shirt, black hat with white markings.
He was also in possession of a grey tent and some camping equipment.
Sergeant Gail Nicol, of Motherwell Police Office, said: “Officers are continuing enquiries to trace Gary and I would urge members of the public to keep an eye out for a man matching his description. Gary’s family are extremely distressed.
“His disappearance is very out of character, and they just want him back home safe and well.
“We know Gary purchased a tent and some camping equipment so I would ask people to look out for him in areas where he may have gone walking or hiking.”
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Police Scotland on the non-emergency number 101.
