Killer Clown Filmed Near School
A ‘killer clown’ has been caught on video hanging around near a Lanarkshire school.
Jason Hayes was out walking his dog when he spotted the ‘Killer Clown’ behind a fence at the ‘New Parks’ near St Bernadette’s Primary in North Motherwell.
He captured the encounter on his phone and it has been viewed over 26,000 times on Facebook. He said: “I was out with Harley and I spotted the clown.
“I have seen a few videos of these clowns on Facebook which is why I did the same and posted it.”
Jason was shocked when he realised that overnight his video of the Motherwell clown had been viewed so many times.
He added: “I had a shock when I looked and saw how many people had viewed it – it’s crazy.”
The so-called ‘Killer Clowns’ have been causing a frenzy in Britain over the last few weeks, after the craze started in America.
Pranksters are dressing up in clown costumes and hiding, waiting to jump out and scare people.
The rise of the phenomenon has been boosted in no small part by a Facebook page which shares photos and videos of the scary sightings.
The incidents continue to divide opinion across the country with some calling them harmless pranks while others have branded the incidents a menace.
Supt David Duncan, of Police Scotland, said: “We have had sporadic reports of individuals dressed as clowns in some areas of Scotland.
“It is assessed that there is a current trend of similar incidents on social media, many of which have been confirmed as hoaxes and emanate from overseas.
“The reports which have been made to local officers are being investigated and do not specifically involve threats or violence.”
Elsewhere in Lanarkshire, a sign has gone up in Larkhall warning 'killer clowns' not to visit the town. As above.
