100 mile Trip To Wishaw For Breakfast
A hungry couple made a 100 miles round trip to buy a gut-busting all day breakfast munchy box launched by a Wishaw cafe.
The man and woman made the trip from Cowdenbeath in Fife to try out Avenue Cafe in the Main Street which produces what is believed to be the first-ever breakfast munchy box in Scotland.
Staff were stunned when the innovative fry-up went viral on social media .
The Avenue Cafe’s Facebook post notched up a whopping 335,761 views and 2537 shares within hours of posting it on November 19th.
Since the launch of the £8.99 heart-stopping speciality staff have been swamped with hungry customers.
The munchy box includes two of each square sausage, haggis, black pudding, fried eggs, potato scones, double bacon, French toast, a portion of hash browns, small beans, small scrambled eggs, two rolls and two cans of soft drinks.
Avenue owner Alan McCann said they were shocked at their customers’ reaction.
He added: “We still can’t believe it. We knew it would be quite popular because this type of thing is all the rage at the moment, but I never for a second thought it would attract this many people’s attention. It’s been a crazy week.”
Alan said the demand for the breakfast box as been so high that they have decided to start a delivery service at the weekends.
“We are looking forward to curing our customers’ hangovers and sorting out families with their weekend breakfasts.”
The Avenue will deliver for free to Wishaw, Coltness, Cleland, Cambusnethan, Newmains, Overtown, Pather, Gowkthrapple, Muirhouse, Netherton, Craigneuk, Dimsdale, Waterloo and Wishawhill.
